I have been involved in the health and fitness industry for over 16 years with a love of sport starting at childhood competing at the highest level in swimming and as a professional jump jockey for seven successful years.
Moving to London from Edinburgh I worked at and subsequently managed The Broadgate Club, one of the most prestigious health clubs in the city. During this time I gained my Body Pump and Spinning instructors certificates which started me on the path to becoming a Personal Trainer.
My philosophy is simple. Understand what you want to achieve, when you want to accomplish it and set small goals to focus on to keep you motivated and get a perfect end result. Recording results in a workout diary for example shows you where you came from, how you have improved, what you need to do further . It also works as a great motivational tool.
Personal Training is individual to every client no matter what you are training for. It’s a process of working with the right tools to provide an excellent workout plan that is challenging, fun and progressive. Understanding nutrition is a key factor and it’s this aspect that can really improve weight loss and enhance sporting performance. I also believe that the mind is an important muscle to exercise. I work in the art of “Can Do!” Working on your mental toughness and self-belief can really pay dividends on staying positive and moving forward in tough times.
The body is an amazing machine and obtaining peak fitness can change your outlook on life in such a positive and powerful way. Imagine you as a stronger, faster and leaner being, able to cope with all kinds of physical and mental demands. I’m not going to lie to you, it’s not going to be easy getting there, nothing of great value is, however I will be with you every step of the way and together we will make a difference.
